Finding strength in faith during overwhelming times

Some days jump off with a heaviness that settles in long before it’s time to get up. today was that day starting at 4 this morning and it feels like one thing after another.

The weight is real. The exhaustion is real. The temptation to shut down, walk away, and go home is real.

And yet, in the middle of it all, I keep finding myself asking one question:

What would Jesus do?

Not because I got all the answers. Not because I’m handling everything well.

But because when life feels overwhelming, I need something stronger than my emotions to lead me.

There are moments when I wonder if I should fight the weight or just sit with it.

Should I push through, or should I step back and breathe?

What I’m learning is that God never asks us to pretend the burden not there.

He only asks us to bring it to Him.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

This spiritual journey can be a lonely one. No one understands where you are and what you’ve endured.

Isolation is real.

Sometimes the path that brings us closer to God also separates us from things, people, and habits we once had.

Yet even in those lonely places, God reminds us that we are never abandoned.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18

It hurts.

If I’m honest, I feel crushed. Tired. Worn thin. And maybe some of you do too.

Maybe you carrying ish no one sees.

Maybe you fighting battles no one knows about.

Maybe you too are smiling on the outside while barely holding it together on the inside.

If so, know this:

You don’t have to be strong every moment.

You don’t have to have every answer.

You don’t have to carry burden (s) by yourself.

God is not waiting for a polished version of you.

He is present with you in the weary version, the tearful version, the exhausted version.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7

So today, I don’t know what the next hour looks like but I’m trying.

I’m choosing not to feed this weight, the frustration, or the discouragement. Troubles on every side.

I’m choosing to feed my faith. Not because my circumstances have changed, but because God has not changed. Still the same. Yesterday, Today and forever more.

And if all I can do today is take one more step, whisper one more prayer, and trust God with the next moment, then that will be enough.

Writing is my outlet. Thanks for being a reader! I needed this. Talesha Sandidge
