Grateful Anyway

Some days feel like a dream,
like I’m standing in the rain waiting for a rainbow to break through.
Life has handed me gifts I never saw coming
and battles I never would have chosen.
I’ve learned that blessings aren’t always wrapped in pretty paper.
Sometimes they are disguised as heartbreak, lessons, tears, strength, or survival.
These days, I find myself thankful for the things others might overlook.
A butterfly in my path.
A rainbow during the storm.
A text from that one friend.
A small breath.
Another chance.
Life will always bring rewards and consequences, joy and heartbreak.
But through every season, God’s love remains.
And when all is said and done,
that’s the promise I hold on to.
The butterfly still flies.
The rainbow still appears.
And grace still finds me.
